A portfolio and commissions site for a Tetbury painter who spent his working life in architecture — built so the paintings, not the furniture, do the talking.

[ The brief ]

A painter who needed a wall, not a website.

Andrew Day spent his working life in architecture and interior design before moving into pen, ink and watercolour. He paints houses, boats, coastlines and market towns — the kind of work people commission because a particular place matters to them. What he needed was somewhere the paintings could be seen at a decent size, and somewhere a commission could be explained without a phone call. Anything else on the page would have been in the way.

[ What we built ]

The work at full size, and a clear way in.

One page, numbered in five parts, so a visitor can look or enquire without hunting for either.

  • The paintings carry it. Twenty-four pieces in a gallery that gives each one room, with originals on enquiry rather than a price grid.
  • Commissions, explained. Three plain steps — consultation, reference, painting — so the process is understood before anyone makes contact.
  • Room for exhibitions. A dated section ready for shows around Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds as they are announced.
  • Typography doing the work. No stock photography and no decoration: the layout is set in type so the watercolours are the only colour on the page.
[ The result ]

Live, and ready for the next commission.

The site went live in September 2026 on our own hosting, with HTTPS and a custom domain, and we look after it from here. Enquiries reach Andrew directly by email, phone or Instagram, and the exhibition section is waiting on dates.

[ Scope ]
  • Build. A single-page portfolio site, hand-built and hosted with us on a custom domain with HTTPS.
  • Shows. Twenty-four paintings — houses, boats, coastlines and market towns — originals on enquiry.
  • Explains. Commissions in three steps, with price and lead time given on enquiry.
  • Contact. Direct to Andrew by email, phone and Instagram, with an enquiry form alongside.
