Clay & Paper
A Shopify store built end to end for mixed media artist Kate Bates, selling prints and filling courses, workshops and parties.
One studio, many things to sell.
Kate Bates is a mixed media artist working from the family farm at Dyrham and a studio at the Old School, Westleigh in North Devon. The business earns in several ways at once — giclée prints and greeting cards, art courses for all abilities, workshops, birthday and hen parties, and corporate away days — and all of it needed to live under one roof without confusing anybody.

A shop and a timetable, in one place.
We built the store end to end on Shopify, so Kate can take payments for prints and fill her courses without touching code.
- Kate’s work leads. Her own paintings carry the design rather than stock photography, so the site looks like the artist it belongs to.
- A real shop. Prints and cards with variants and pricing from £3, plus a wholesale and stockist route for trade enquiries.
- Courses that fill themselves. Courses, workshops, parties and team days each get their own space, with a timetable and a mailing list doing the follow-up.
A working shopfront, not a brochure.
Clay & Paper now sells prints, takes course bookings and gathers subscribers from one site that Kate runs herself, with us looking after the technical side.
- Platform. Shopify, built end to end — theme, products, collections and checkout.
- Sells. Giclée prints and greeting cards from £3, with wholesale and stockist routes.
- Books. Courses, workshops, parties, hen parties and corporate away days.
- Run by Kate. Day-to-day updates need no developer; we look after the technical side.
